While we’re sure the sound of more youthful, tight skin sounds appealing, you might be wondering how

much pain you’ll have to undergo in order to achieve your desired look. Luckily, there’s almost no pain involved in skin tightening. While you may find the heat from the laser to be slightly uncomfortable, it’s very minimal and can almost be comparable to receiving a hot stone massage. In addition, with skin tightening, you really don’t have to worry about side-effects. The only thing we recommend clients keep in mind is that they might have some redness, swelling and discomfort immediately after the procedure. Again, however, the majority of clients find that this discomfort is very manageable and will only last for a couple of hours. Keep in mind that because of the non-invasive nature of skin tightening, skin tightening requires no downtime, allowing you to undergo your procedure and then go about your day-to-day activities as normal. That means no booking time off, no time stuck at home and no extreme swelling/discomfort. Skin tightening makes having youthful, plump skin a true breeze. For more of our easy-breezy beauty treatments that require no downtime, we offer the best eyelash extensions for Mississauga, Brampton and nearby GTA residents.

As mentioned above, skin tightening should never be used as a replacement for a healthy diet and exercise. If you’re looking to lose weight, diet and exercise should always be your first line of defence. We only recommend skin tightening for those who have a small amount of stubborn fat that is unresponsive to diet and exercise. Other than that, because skin tightening is so minimally invasive, almost anyone who wishes to try skin tightening is capable of doing so. Even if you’re in your 20s and you’ve yet to notice your skin start to sag, skin tightening is a great preventative measure to help you get ahead of potential future sagging. Skin tightening in your 20s allows you to bank collagen so that when the time comes, your collagen supplies are large and your skin is less prone to sagging. We highly recommend that all our younger clients consider skin tightening.

Generally speaking, you’ll find that there are two teeth whitening solutions that are often used:

1) Hydrogen peroxide

2) Carbamide peroxide

Both whitening solutions are effective, but you’ll often find that hydrogen peroxide is used if you want a quick whitening solution, while carbamide peroxide is used if you have long periods of time for whitening (eg. overnight).

In both scenarios, these solutions work to break apart chemical bonds that occur on both organic and inorganic tooth stains.

In addition, the solution works on both extrinsic (eg. stains on the outside of the tooth likely caused by lifestyle choices like smoking, coffee/wine consumption) and intrinsic stains (eg. stains that are part of the tooth and are more likely due to aging/genetics).

Extrinsic tooth discoloration tends to be easier to treat, while intrinsic is tougher and may require a dentist’s expertise. Having said that, if your teeth are looking less white than you would like, you can benefit from teeth whitening — regardless of what type of staining you have.

Do you feel like your eyes are too small? Nose too big? Whatever your concern may be, not to worry there are some makeup technique's that can help you enhance your best feature and minimize what you may consider your worst.

Just remember you are beautiful and 99.9% of the time others will never see what you see in the mirror. Most of the time the things we feel insecure about we are the only ones to see it. Embrace your inner diamond and remember to look in the mirror every morning with a positive affirmation about yourself before putting on your makeup if you wear it. In the meantime, here are some tips on corrective techniques for makeup application:

When the eyebrows have high arches, it can make your face look narrower. Creating high brows can be a perfect technique for people with a round face.

If the face is already narrow, it is not a good idea to have highly arched brows. It will elongate the face even more. You can remove the extra hair on the top of the arch and fill in underneath the arch. This technique will also make a low forehead look bigger.

If you feel your eyes appear further apart, you can make the distance between the brows wider and then extend the brow out more a bit.

For nose:

  • Too long: To shorten the nose, you will apply a dark shadow underneath the nose and over the tip of the nose. Be sure to blend it very well

  • Too short: Apply a highlighter right under the nose and on the tip of the nose

  • Too narrow: Apply a highlighter to either side of the nose and thoroughly blend

  • Too wide: Apply a shadow on both sides of the nose and then a highlighter down the centre going from top to bottom.

  • If you have a round or square shaped face, then you can reduce these features and narrow the face considerably with the use of foundation. Use a darker foundation along the outer edges of your temple, along the cheekbone and the jawline. You can then use a lighter foundation down the centre of the face all the way from the forehead to the chin.

  • In the event you have a narrow face, you can hide this elongated and narrow feature by simply using a lighter foundation along the outer edges of the cheekbone.

  • If you want to hide a double chin, it is easier to correct than you may realize. A double chin can be corrected by using darker foundation under the jaw and over the double chin.

  • When dealing with a wide jaw, simply use a darker foundation under the cheekbones and on the jawline.
